Review on Alive Inside :)

Alive inside is a documentary about a program aimed at helping the elderly get back their memories. The setting is in a nursing homes and the plot is how music awakens memories. They showed a 90-year-old woman is nearly unresponsive when asked about her youth. She wants to help, but she no longer has any access to her own life. Then she is fitted with an iPod playing Louis Armstrong singing “When the Saints Go Marching In.” Almost immediately, she is transformed, chatting volubly about her childhood and family. It show that music is not just something we listen to. It show that we attach memories to music and that we can help the elderly get back their memories. The theme was music and how it can awaken memories in us. That we have ways to help people remember who they are when they get old. They had a lot of good angles and the music touched people that were watching. I thought it was a very good documentary. The movie touched my heart.
